Château La Freynelle, a 75-hectare estate, is situated in the picturesque village of Daignac, at the heart of Bordeaux's Entre-Deux-Mers region. The estate's story began in 1789 when Jean Barthe planted his first vines in the area. For seven generations, Chateau La Freynelle was lovingly passed down from father to son.
In a historic turn of events, Véronique Barthe, the first daughter born into the family since the French Revolution, inherited the estate in 1992. At just 22 years old, Véronique took on the responsibility of managing the estate. Over the past 26 years, she has skillfully employed her extensive knowledge and experience to refine and enhance Chateau La Freynelle's offerings.
Determined to elevate her wines to the highest possible standard, Véronique has collaborated closely with renowned consultant enologist Stephane Toutoundji for the past four years. Together, they have fine-tuned the estate's agricultural practices and vinification processes. As a result, Chateau La Freynelle's wines now showcase exceptional finesse and quality, placing them among the top five Bordeaux wines in their price category produced in the Entre-Deux-Mers region.
