South Africa: Swartland to the Franschhoek

Friday, April 26th @ Barriques Monroe St: While considered one of the new wine regions, South Africa's wine history actually dates back to the 1600s, when Jan van Riebeeck, the founder of Cape Town, began growing grapes in the country. They're also the origin of Pinotage, a grape that's a crossbreed between Cinsault and Pinot Noir. Taste some of their wines, and learn a little more about South African wine! No RSVP or advance tickets necessary. Stop in anytime between 5:30-7:30pm and enjoy. $13 Admission.
