Syrah, Shiraz, and Petite Sirah

CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Friday, March 20th @ Barriques West Wash: The most important factor in distinguishing these three S wines, Syrah, Shiraz, and Petite Sirah, is where they're grown. Syrah and Shiraz are actually the same wine grape, but Shiraz is the catchall term for Syrah grown either in Australia or South Africa. And because it's grown in those warmer climates, it's a much fruitier wine. Petite Sirah, on the other hand, is a crossbreed derived from Sirah. It tends to make spicy, plummy wines. Stop by this tasting and learn how that difference translates in the glass. No RSVP or advance tickets necessary. Stop in anytime between 5:30-7:30pm and enjoy. $12 Admission.
