Join Barriques and winemaker Tim Jones for an exclusive virtual tasting of four wines from Oregon's The Four Graces on Friday, January 15th at 7pm.
Four Graces is a beautiful, boutique winery founded by the Black family in 2003. They had purchased an existing vineyard in the Dundee Hills of Willamette Valley, Oregon and they chose to name the winery in honor of the Black's four daughters. They rebuilt the vineyards to be sustainably farmed and to create complex, elegant styles of wines.
The Four Graces was eventually sold to Bill Foley, who in turn put the unique tiny estate in the hands of talented winemaker, Tim Jones. Tim leads an intimate team of 4 people in a very hands on approach to producing the small production wines at Four Graces. Every aspect of winery, from tending vines and growing grapes at two different vineyard sites, to making the wines and managing the cellar, are overseen by Tim and crew.
The tasting pack for this virtual event will include:
Four Graces Willamette Valley Pinot Gris 2019 - Beautiful bright aromas of tropical fruit, fresh lime and honeysuckle flower mingle in the glass with a hint of struck flint. The palate continues with fresh lemon and lime zest followed by a touch of quince and wet stone, which leads into a vibrant lingering acidity.
Four Graces Pinot Blanc 2018 - Aromas of yellow peach and lemon zest mix with tropical fruit notes of pineapple and guava. The palate continues with juicy peach and Asian pear flavors. The bright fruit is complemented by refreshing citrus and mineral notes, which linger on the finish.
Four Graces Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2018 - Pleasant aromas of raspberry, Bing cherry and hints of earthy forest floor and chanterelle mushrooms mingle. The palate exudes bright red fruit flavors of cherry and cranberry which are complemented by a focused mid palate of black pepper and light roasted coffee beans. The finish has bright flavors with perfectly balanced acidity.
Four Graces Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2018 - Our 2018 Dundee Hills Reserve Pinot Noir displays a dark ruby color. Nuanced aromas of dried cherries, rose petals and earth set the tone. Juicy wild strawberry and cherry coat the palate with notes of sage highlighted in the background. The use of new French oak barrels in this wine supports the fruit and adds a touch of baking spice aroma where the contribution of older French oak barrels allows the tannins to develop gracefully over time. The finish is silky and long, which is a characteristic of Dundee Hills Pinot Noir.
