Cascina Bongiovanni Dolcetto d'Alba

2018 - The Cascina Bongiovanni Dolcetto d'Alba is a true wine drinker's kind of wine in that is just chock full of character.  In the glass you’ll find a lighter purple ruby color with a dusty red tinge on the rim.  This Dolcetto is fermented and aged in stainless so it exudes great varietal character with aromas of wild violets, mulberry, black cherry and thyme.  Velvet power frames the palate with good intensity full of deep red berry fruits, spice and supple dry tannins.  If you are looking for no-brainer way to scratch that Italian wine itch, this wine will satisfy you on a multitude of levels in the glass.  Even better, pair it up with an Italian sausage, fresh basil, arugula pizza or meat stuffed ravioli in a rich red sauce.
