Altano Douro Red

The 2019 Altano Douro Red is a blend of Touriga Franca 40%, Tinta Roriz 30% and Tinta Barroca 30%, aged in a mix of American and French oak barrels.  In the glass the wine displays a solid garnet color throughout.  It has beautiful, rich fragrance of bing cherry, black berry, mulberry fruits, a mix of wild herbs, spices and wildflowers that's backed with a subtle dark chocolate and roasted coffee note.  As expected, it is pleasantly full on the palate with intense fruit flavors that are well rounded and show off impressive length on the finish.  If you re looking for a hearty glass pour, this is a great choice while also being a fine wine for pairing with roast beef, meatloaf, pizza night or brats.
