Bodegas Fontana Tempranillo "Mesta"

The 2020 Bodegas Fontana "Mesta' Tempranillo beautifully captures the Morales families vision for producing wines with balance and finesse.  On inspection the wine displays a dark red robe with a purple-ish core in the glass.  It has upfront aromas of black cherry, kirsch liqueur, currants, rosemary and licorice along with a very pleasant, medium weight to the palate that is packed with fresh red berry flavors, violets and a dry finish.  Versatility is key to how fun this wine can be. The twist top makes it perfect to be thrown into a backpack or water bottle holder as you bike your way to a picnic snack of charcuterie, cheese and olives. You’ll also find it a stellar pairing at pizza night or for burgers on the grill.
