Old Sugar Factory Honey Liqueur

Old Sugar Factory Honey Liqueur is the first product offered by the craft distiller of the same name. It's named for the US Sugar Company that was in operation from 1906 to 1924 on Madison's east side. This liqueur uses the same type of sugar beet rendered sugar made from locally grown sugar beets and briefly aged in American oak barrels.

The honey is also locally grown in Wisconsin. It is a very dry style of liqueur using the minimum of 2.5% sugar to qualify for the label (many liqueurs on the market are in the 20%-30% range). They suggest serving with traditional horchata with lime and honey in soda water.
