The 2021 Passionate Wines Del Mono Tinto is a 50/50 blend of Syrah and Malbec coming from 5 hectares of select vineyards in Tupungato.  Under a meager 2.4 tons of fruit per acre is harvested, pressed, fermented and aged in concrete eggs to retain the freshness.  Initial look at the wine shows a nearly opaque, deep, dark velvety red w/ a purple rim.  Fleshy aromas of boysenberry, plum, black berry, black raspberry are lifted in the glass, framed by a subtle peppery spice.  The wine is medium bodied with intense fruit structure that has loads of depth in dark fruits, peppery spice laced throughout, fresh acidity and supple dry tannins.  This wine is true joy to drink and it can be heard screaming for a blackening seasoned pork loin grilled with a fresh cherry chutney or a grilled flank steak in a chimichurri sauce.
