2020 - You would be hard pressed to find a more classic, traditional Cotes du Rhone Villages wine than Perrin. Within the Cotes du Rhone, only 20% of the best vineyards are allowed to be labeled 'Villages". This blend of Syrah and Grenache displays a red ruby color with a deeper velvet robe rim in the glass. It has focused fresh aromas of bing cherry, black berry, red currant, rosemary, white pepper and violets. As in all Perrin wines, balance is key to the magical texture to this wine with smooth suede like tannins wrapped around red berry fruits and a spiced dry finish. This is a key wine tool to have in your arsenal that works amazingly well with roasted veggie ragu, cassoulet, bacon wrapped chestnuts, game meats or sausages.
