The 2019 Portlandia "Big Believer" Cabernet Sauvignon is made from fruit sourced from exclusive vineyards in Washington’s Colombia Valley. It is aged for 15 months in a mix of 20% new and 80% used French oak barrels. The wine shows an opaque dark purple, garnet color in the glass. It has inky, dense aromas of boysenberry, blackberry, macerated blueberry and mulberry fruits laced with vanilla bean and toasted oak spices. Uber rich on the palate, this Cab is saturated with red berry fruits, currant and a creamy, visceral finish. It’s a bold wine by the glass and a great pairing with beef brisket, blackened meatloaf, prime rib or meat lasagna.
