The 2021 Steve Bird's exceptional Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is built from 7 vineyards in the Wairau Valley. The fruit goes through a very long cool fermentation on its gross lees which lends to the extra richness and intensity of his Sauvignon Blanc. It pours forth with a bright, translucent, crystalline hue with a honey straw tone. To say it has an exuberant bouquet is putting it mildly as it fills the glass with lemon/lime citrus, ripe gooseberry, champagne mango, citrus flowers and stoney minerality. The intense aromas carry across the palate with wild tropical flavors, crisp citrusy acidity, dry and full rounded finish. This is a prideful wine to serve to great friends and guests alike.
