Tinto Rey Tempranillo

The 2019 Tinto Rey Tempranillo was fermented in small stainless tanks with a mix of natural and cultured yeasts.  It received gentle pump overs and a soft pressing before being aged in a mix of new(22%) and used French, American and Hungarian oak barrels for 29 months.  The result is astonishing, displaying a nearly opaque, blood red purple color in the glass  On the nose the wine is loaded upfront with deep cherry, red plum, blackberry fruits, subtle toast, vanilla and dusty spice.  Intense, visceral red currant, blueberry, boysenberry fruits spill across the entire palate while featuring very supple tannins backed by a juicy finish.  This wine hits way above its weight class and is great for pairing with slow roasted barbecue ribs, rich tomato pasta dishes, lamb or spicy seafood gumbo.
